Books Make Me Happy!

I recently picked up a 50 cent copy of The Happiness Project at an estate sale a few weekends ago while thrifting with my friend Erika , she recommended this book to me at least a year ago and seeing it at the sale must have been a sign.  For the price, I just couldn't pass it up.

I always have tons of books on my to read list, but sometimes it takes me forever to get around to reading them, especially when I keep adding new ones. I can't wait to curl up with a cup of tea and break into this one.

What good books have you been reading lately?

Varsity Cheerleader Werewolves from Outer Space!

Last night we went to see this live show at The Funhouse Lounge.

First off, the Funhouse Lounge has a pretty creepy clown room, funhouse mirrors and old side show posters as decor. It was a interesting place, I didn't even know existed in Portland.

We saw this live stage show, it had originally been imagined as a movie, but the writer/director, local PDXer Steve Coker opted to adapt it for the stage.

The story follows the main protagonist Stacy moving to Klamath Falls and encountering some mean cheerleaders, who of course turn into werewolves and cause havoc on the town. In true 80s style the dialogue and schtick totally fit the 80s teen movie mold.

This 60 minute show was really fun, some of actors played multiple roles and Steve even put a wink into classic Tarantino. I also really enjoyed how the actors incorporated things that happened in the audience into the show.

The show runs through the end of April on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, you can get tickets on Brown Paper tickets or at the door.
